FHC | Family Home Care & Hospice Brand Identity

For over 40 years, people throughout the Inland Northwest have counted on Family Home Care & Hospice (FHC) to provide professional, compassionate medical and home health services. As the largest locally owned home health company in the area with over 400 employees and the only agency that provides private duty care, home health, hospice and mobile primary care services, FHC has a unique commitment to providing the finest care to clients and their families. FHC is growing, evolving, and moving forward as a company by expanding their services and their service areas. They felt the need to update their visual identity. FHC has asked Tran Creative to provide them with a full branding package: corporate identity, brand audits, print collateral, brand standards guide, etc.

After nearly 4 months and hundreds of design explorations, Tran Creative & FHC are pleased and excited to introduce to you the new look.

FHC started inside a hospital setting. That is one reason their old logo carries a red cross with a home at center. For the new logo, we are able to keep the root of their origin, the cross with the home in the center. In addition, people sprouting out from the cross signifies that FHC is growing, serving and working with communities across the region. A vibrant color palette enhances the community aspect and add flavors to the brand. Overall, the new logo is friendly, communicates “Celebration of Life”, and is timeless.

The design execution is to be easily identifiable and produced on corporate collateral, web site, and other promotional products.

Family Home Care Given Top 1% Rating in Washington

Medicare’s quarterly analysis of home health companies and their patient outcomes, puts Family Home Care of Spokane in the top one percent of Washington home health companies and in the top three percent nationwide.

“We are thrilled that the hard work and dedication of our staff has resulted in this significant ranking,” explained Michael Nowling, president of Family Home Care. “We have always believed that our commitment to hiring and retaining only the best home care professionals gives us an advantage. Now we have the data to back it up and are pleased to release this information in conjunction with National Home Care and Hospice Month.”

Home health care is a Medicare benefit that provides nursing and rehabilitation visits to a patient’s home. Not only do many patients prefer the more comfortable environment of home care to nursing homes or rehabilitation centers, but it has been shown that quality home care accelerates recovery and improves quality of life.

The clinical outcomes of patients cared for by each home health company are tracked by Medicare, based on objective assessments of patient improvement in ten different areas, such as pain reduction, bladder control, mobility and other basic functions of daily living. Those outcomes are tabulated and compared with other home care companies in Washington and across the nation. The resulting data was shared with home care companies in individually prepared reports released this fall.

“We were excited to receive this report,” said Nowling, “because it shows for the first time how our patient outcomes, overall, compare to other home care organizations across the state and the nation.”

Family Home Care currently provides Medicare certified and private duty services to home health patients in Spokane County and in the Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls areas of North Idaho. With their recent purchase of Whitman Home Health and Hospice, Family Home Care has added Whitman County and the Moscow area to its service territory and hospice care to its scope of services.

Family Home Care has more than 40 years of history as a home health provider in Spokane County. Purchased five years ago by Michael Nowling, the company has grown significantly in staff and number of patients served. With more than 230 staff members, Family Home Care is now the largest locally owned home health care provider in the Inland Northwest.
